A beautiful and meaningful moment for Adelaide’s Afghan community. ❤️
Prima Nota’s Chair was very pleased to join Behishta Anwar and community members for the permanent installation of South Australia’s Mosaic for Afghan Women in Ridleyton.

The mosaic scarf is part of the international Hanging by a Thread project, created from individual mosaic pieces inspired by Afghan dress and made in solidarity with Afghan women and girls. After travelling through Adelaide, regional South Australia and Canberra, the South Australian scarf has now found a permanent home across nine Stobie poles on Blight Street, opposite the Croydon Bowling Club.
It was especially lovely to see a community project become part of the local landscape — somewhere people can stop, look, ask questions and learn the story behind it.

Congratulations to Behishta, Kristin Wohlers and MAANZ, and everyone who helped bring this project to its permanent home.

Afghan women and girls have not been forgotten.
