Such a lovely evening at Multicultural Communities Council of SA tonight, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and enjoying some truly thought-provoking art! ❤️

We were delighted to attend the opening of Our Sexual Health Matters, a multicultural collage exhibition exploring identity, culture, migration, belonging, consent and personal freedom.

What makes this exhibition particularly meaningful is how its themes resonate across every community, regardless of language, culture or background. Our traditions and experiences may differ, but questions of dignity, relationships, personal choice and the freedom to be ourselves are universal. These are conversations that matter to all of us, even if they aren’t always easy to have.

A particularly special surprise was seeing the work of Elena Gasparyan! Drawing on her Armenian heritage, Lena’s collage explores the expectations placed on women, the complexities of cultural identity and the delicate balance between honouring tradition and choosing one’s own path. The symbolism throughout her work is especially powerful, inviting us to reflect on how deeply cultural expectations can shape our understanding of ourselves and the choices we make.

A heartfelt thank you to MCCSA, the artists and everyone involved for creating a space where art brings communities together and opens the door to such important conversations.

📍 MCCSA, 113 Gilbert Street, Adelaide
🗓️ Exhibition open 2–30 November 2026

If you’re in Adelaide, do stop by and explore these wonderful works! ❤️
