Supporting migrant-led and grassroots organisations to build strong foundations
Prima Nota provides community-focused governance and leadership capacity-building support to migrant-led and grassroots organisations.
This programme is delivered on a modest cost-recovery basis. Contributions are structured below commercial market rates and are intended to partially offset delivery and administrative costs. Any surplus income is reinvested into Prima Nota’s charitable programmes.
This programme advances Prima Nota’s charitable objectives by:
- Strengthening governance literacy within migrant and CALD communities
- Improving organisational sustainability and transparency
- Supporting community-led initiatives to operate responsibly and confidently
- Enhancing readiness for participation in local civic and funding systems
Strong governance is essential for sustainable and accountable community organisations.
Support is educational and capacity-building in nature and may include:
Incorporation & Constitution Guidance
General guidance on forming an incorporated association or reviewing an existing structure. Support may include plain-language explanations of governance obligations and sample templates for educational use. Prima Nota does not provide legal advice.
Committee Tools & Templates
Provision of practical templates such as:
- Membership registers
- Meeting agenda and minutes templates
- Committee role guides
- Basic governance checklists
Committee Training Sessions
Facilitated sessions (typically 1–2 hours) covering:
- Roles and responsibilities
- Compliance basics
- Record keeping
- Sustainable governance practices
Strategic Planning Workshops
Structured workshops to help committees clarify purpose, priorities, and funding alignment. Sessions focus on capacity-building and roadmap development rather than formal consultancy services.
