Maslenitsa is a traditional Eastern European folk celebration marking the end of winter and the arrival of spring. At its heart are pancakes (blini), shared meals, music, dance, storytelling, and community connection.
The Folk Pancake Festival Maslenitsa SA has grown into South Australia’s largest Slavic pancake celebration — welcoming visitors from all backgrounds to experience Slavic culture through food, live performance, hands-on workshops, and inclusive community spaces.
It’s a vibrant, joyful outdoor festival, designed for families, friends, and anyone curious to explore culture through shared tradition.
