\ud83c\udf42 What a beautiful day at our Family Fun Day Picnic! \ud83c\udf42<\/p>\n

Officially, according to our records, around 45 people attended- though unofficially\u2026 probably quite a few more \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

A huge thank you to Multicultural Communities Council of SA and the Alcohol and Drug Foundation (ADF) for supporting this event and helping make the plov experience completely free and accessible to everybody. And judging by the outcome- no plov was left behind \ud83d\ude05\u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n

This event was co-organised together with the Russian-Speaking Women\u2019s Association in South Australia led by Sonia Michailov, who also co-hosted the picnic throughout the day. Huge thank you for the collaboration, warmth, and community spirit \ud83c\udf3f<\/p>\n

It was so lovely to reconnect with old friends and meet so many new beautiful faces. We had people from many different backgrounds joining us throughout the day- including Uzbek, Tatar, Ukrainian, and other communities. Around the reserve, one could hear conversations in Russian and many other languages.<\/p>\n

A very special thank you to Jakhon Madaminov for co-hosting parts of the event with us in Uzbek language, for introducing us to his wonderful culture and community, and for generously sharing his professional audio equipment with everybody.<\/p>\n

And yes- our event was completely alcohol-free, and not a single soul seemed to complain \ud83d\ude04 Thank you, ADF, for the inspiration. The day turned out to be all about fresh air, beautiful weather, kind-hearted people, good conversations, music, movement, and food bringing everybody together \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n

Huge thank you as well to Yuri Markov for the fun entertainment, music, energy, and for helping bring people together throughout the day \ud83c\udfb6<\/p>\n

We also want to sincerely thank everyone who stayed behind to help clean up afterwards, and Airat and Denis for providing us with some infrastructure- community events like this truly happen because people care and pitch in.<\/p>\n

And thank you to Marita from BreastScreen SA for spending the day with us and for the warm and important conversations around women\u2019s health \ud83c\udf38<\/p>\n

Big thanks to everyone who came along. We loved having you there and hope to see you again soon at future outdoor and community activities\ud83e\udd70<\/p>\n
